My Story
When people ask me what exactly I do for a living, I tell them:
“I love to help people find ways to create the lifestyle they dream of.”
But what I really want to say is:
"I put money and ideas together to help people save the most and get the most out of their home... and everything in between."
But what I really REALLY want to say is:
"I pour my heart and soul into Real Estate. People ask me what my hobbies are and I draw a blank because I LOVE my job! People may say I'm a workaholic but it's in my blood and it's what makes me excited, happy, and makes me feel fulfilled. I turn anything real estate into red velvet cupcakes... because the more fun I pour into work, the more clients I get to share it with! I love Mobile and I LOVE to share everything about her with anyone that will listen!"
Melanie is the broker and owner of 1702 Real Estate and the (brain and brawn) behind 1702 Design Build. She was fresh out of college when she moved to Mobile from Birmingham and began selling real estate. She quickly realized helping people buy and/or sell homes was her passion! At the ripe old age of 25 with some courage and a lot of tenaciousness, she set out into the world of renovation. Most of those early years were spent tearing out carpet, learning the works of different saw types, studying the realms of the construction business, and just back-breaking hard labor! Now, over 15 years later, she has been blessed to be able to bring her talent, knowledge, and love of all things real estate and renovation to others, showing them how easy, fun, and fulfilling buying, selling, or renovating a home can be. She's helping many achieve what they never thought possible!
You’ll often see Melanie’s 11 year old daughter Lola where 1702 is working. To Melanie, family is of utmost importance and the time spent together is something that cannot be replaced.
“Lola represents the future generation of Mobile and we want to give her every opportunity to learn about compassion, hard work and perseverance so we can help to ensure that Mobile continues its growth and continues procuring servant leaders. Lola will tell you herself, 'We work hard but play hard, too!'”

Melanie’s husband Jon is in his 16th season following his passion for coaching baseball at the University of Mobile. He was also a transplant to the area, but together they have moved both sets of parents here and have set up permanent roots. You’ll often see the Seymour's and their three rescue dogs out about town enjoying all the awesome local activities, food, and music among other activities Mobile or the Eastern Shore has to offer.
Melanie is a member of the National Association of Realtors®, RESA® Real Estate Staging Association, IAHSP® International Association of Home Staging Professionals and has earned her designation as an HSE® Home Staging Expert, (MRP) Military Relocation Professional and (PSA) Pricing Strategy Advisor. She is active in the community, serving as the President on the Board of Directors for Habitat For Humanity of Southwest Alabama, as well as sitting as a long time board member and current Vice President of Restore Mobile Inc, a 501(c)3 organization that renovates, secures and/or stabilizes dilapidated historical properties. She is passionate about animal rescue and volunteers with several groups.

John C. Mims
Realtor
Licensed Home Builder
John has a passion for all things real estate! Having grown up in a Creole cottage built in 1846, he has loved historic homes since he was a child. He eventually turned that love into a career. John started his real estate career at a large firm, but after many years realized bigger isn’t necessarily better. “There are many aspects to the real estate business, not just listing and selling. “I want to be able to share my knowledge with my clients so they can make the best decision possible. Each client is different, that’s why I enjoy having the flexibility of a smaller firm so we can develop a strategy to help that client reach their goal and not be bound by corporate guidelines.” Whether it be, a first home, a dream home, a fixer-upper, an investment property, or a design and renovation, John has experience in all aspects of real estate. “I want my clients to get the most out of their investment, whether it be financially or just to have a home that they love.” Call John today and let his knowledge work for you!

Natalie moore
Realtor
SRES Certified
"Welcome to the beautiful Mobile Bay Area! I’m Natalie Moore. I am a Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES.) I grew up in Andalusia, Alabama, but since 1990 I’ve lived in Fairhope, Magnolia Springs, Daphne, Bay Minette, and Mobile; I currently own a cute little house in Midtown Mobile. I’ve been in sales since graduating from the University of South Alabama; it’s in my blood, it’s what I do, and I love it. I was the Rookie of The Year in 2005 when I started in real estate and I’m now a multi-million dollar producer. Over the years I’ve developed great relationships with insurance agents, title companies, mortgage lenders, contractors, as well as other real estate agents. This is my only job – YOU are my priority. I answer your calls, texts, and emails promptly. But the best part of working with me is that I’m fun, honest, and eager to help. We live in one of the most beautiful areas in the country, our access to water is a huge draw and our warm weather means there’s always something blooming in your garden. I love to show off what Mobile and Baldwin County have to offer and I love helping people find their local piece of this paradise."
